Frag Out!

Frag Out!

Summary (a quick, 2-3 sentence summary): Add a automatic sentence such as 'FRAG OUT!' in all caps perhaps bold red text everytime someone tosses a frag grenade, or shoots it from the grenade launcher?

Benefits (How this will benefit the server and game as a whole): No more getting your shit blown up randomly because some bald chucklefuck decides 'THIS NEEDS MORE BOOM' and taking out a squad of marines.

Details (Description of how you think this would work, the benefits, etc): ^. No more LEL UR EXPLODED from bald morons/idiots in general.

Implementation (Optional, if you have an idea how to implement it): Coding, I'd assume

The grenades already have a pretty obvious indicator. Making a character say something specific is kinda dumb. Plus ur garb mitch

My garb..yes. One hit from a point blank grenade sent me straight into crit, broke a leg and a foot, and damaged my mechanical arms beyond use. A blinking exclamation point during combat and lag is..not a obvious indicator at all. Whatsoever. Not to mention the three-five second timer..

And someone shouting "frag out" when the text is scrolling is more useful? Even if you see that text, you'd never even know where the grenade was anyway.
I'm stressing way too hard about what to put here, so I'm just gonna leave it blank.... or....

All caps and in red? Yes, useful. Sure, you wouldn't know where it is. But you'd know to get your ass back into the group of marines instead of on the front lines/chasing that one alien that's almost dead to kill it.

Not only should you not be doing that anyway, but large red text in a sea of small red text isn't as noticeable as you think.

Being on the front lines has worked consistently well for me, only been captured twice in alpha :p

This doesn't even need to be added... Just type it down and press enter... Then, prime the grenade and throw it, the indicator will appear. However, I don't mind it being added, I just find it... Pointless.

I think this is doable. Approved and we'll look into it.

In the military, we fell "(type of grenade) OUT" when we throw anything.

I don't think this is necessary. The grenade beeps as is, regardless of if it's a SCIENCE! one or a marine one. Running around shooting if people don't notice the bright, blinking thing that literally beeps I don't think they'll notice a chat message in a relatively brief window of time.

This is NOT necessary. I don't want to be yelling this. As well as it takes up the time for developers. There are indicators for a reason.

The chat that no one really reads because at that point, it is all red text. But it is pretty easy to see the grenades. There is a giant blinking red exclamation point by it.

Preety sure grenades make a sound when pulled, indicating to you a grenade is about to be thrown...unless you are playing with no freaking sound that is

Doesn't necessarily feel like something that needs to be added. Marines bite the dust on the occasional frag now and again, but it's never been a core issue. That mostly lies with the people throwing them, not the grenades themselves. Personally, I don't think one coded addition to make grenades "louder" in a sense isn't going to slim the margin on marines being merc'd on a grenade.
Goes better with soup.
