Make a list of links to all of your applications and (job)ban appeals, including whitelist and staff apps, within the last year. Also, provide "Ban reason; Verdict" beside each (job)ban link:

None. For full disclosure I was stuck in a bit of a sticky situation a few weeks ago when I was playing as an MP and we had a commander executing people at the start of the round for somewhat trivial things, like speaking out at briefing. After he executed that marine and the WO who was protesting I tried to get the SO to initiate a mutiny and was branded a traitor. As i was running and hiding I was chatting with one of the admins who informed me that no matter the circumstance MPs HAVE to defend the commander and suppress all mutinies and are not allowed to participate in them under any circumstance, and that if I were to continue I risk a job ban. As far as I know that's the closest I've ever come to a job ban

Do you understand that any player - even donors or staff members - can have their whitelist status revoked should they break our Server Rules or Roleplay Guidelines?

Yeah that seems pretty straight forward

Why should you be whitelisted?

I have had extensive experience with most marine aspects of this game. For a long time I did mostly ground based roles like of course marine but usually more often SL or medic. After that I wanted to try being more on command staff. The role I have played by far the most is Battle/Staff Officer, with which I have extensive experience. My first time trying to step up to see what XO would be like we didn't have a commander and it was on Ice Colony. It probably went about as horrible as it could've for a lot of reasons but the two big ones were likely lack of experience for myself in the upper echelon of command and unfamiliarity with that map. We got crushed in about 60 minutes it was bad. After that I really wanted to try as many roles as I could so I could better understand the ship and what I could and should do as commander.

At this point I think I have done most of the ship roles. I played doctor for a long time and still do from time to time. I have been a cargo tech and what I like to think was a pretty competent maintenance tech. I believe I have been the WO once or twice I'm not sure, I find MPs more enjoyable so I usually pick them if I want to be security. Finally I've been a Pilot Officer twice, it was alright just not really my cup of tea. The one role that I really wanted to be but have been unable to despite having it set to high preference for a while is Corporate Liaison.

As you can see I do have extensive in game experience. I excluded most of my ground based experience because it didn't seem as relevant but I can provide a detailed list and examples if wanted. After doing all these different roles and learning I tried being an XO a second time. Thanks to my excellent luck that was another round where we didn't have a commander (now 2 for 2). Luckily I was much more prepared and ready for the possibility this time. I met with my SOs, sought input and ideas to establish plans etc. The round actually went really well and we ended up winning. A commander did join later on and I asked if I could remain mostly in control so I could learn and if he could provide more of a mentor ship so I could "practice for when I get my own command one day" and he agreed

One thing I think should be a little different is that it seems most people forget about our extensive Wikipedia pages. There is a lot of rich information there that I think should be used more. One thing that always seemed weird at the start of rounds is that we are all gearing up for what seems like an intense combat mission when really all the information we have is a blank distress signal from a colony. According to our Wikipedia pages colonies have been going dark for years, and that the Sulaco and another ship vanished on a similar mission several years earlier, but no one ever mentions that in game. I would like to use this information and others like it in an attempt to make it seem a little more believable that we do need to be heavily armed and prepared for anything when going down to the colony. It's a small thing but I still think it would improve the overall RP experience

Anyways that's a lot of information, let me know if I can provide or help with anything else,

The thing is, you appear to have played a lot of roles, but never mentioned SL... and strangely, I have never seen your char before, but that is mostly because I only play 2 rounds per day now, so...

I haven't seen you in-game, but the last few months, I've been barely playing myself. The actual content of your application is fine, and as it's been said before in the past, this application is really just to filter out baldies. Your grammar, which needs to be good to play as a commander, is fine as well.

Unless there's any large issues that present themselves, which I doubt there will be, I'll be giving you my +1.

I'd suggest that you try and play as Executive Officer over the next week. Not only will it help you transition into playing as a commander, but it'll also get your player name out there.

Write something like a briefing or interaction with the CL
I haven't seen you play before last week
Seems nice that you want to use the wiki's lore during an op but that's not too much to go on to know how you'll roleplay

My briefings and interactions will really depend on the specific interactions of that round. I expect my briefings to be a little more generic at first until I get a firm grasp of them so bear with me if they aren’t as exciting right now: Within a few minutes of the round starting I would make a command announcement saying something like “Rise and shine men. We have received a distress signal from (insert whatever it may be here) and have arrived in orbit over our target. Until more information is known we will be dropping with a full combat outfit. So gear up and report for briefing at (again it depends until I get the hang of it so probably a later time like 12:20-12:25 but I expect that to shorten the more that I do it).

After that I will have my XO (or myself if needed) get the squad details (how many men, what type and rank etc). Once we have a count I plan on calling all Staff Officers and the Corporate Liaison to the map table in CIC to formulate a plan. This obviously varies by map but still the most critical things are generally power and communications so the squads assigned to them are usually the most combat able and have sufficient engineers to do it quickly. We will have a squad, usually the weaker one, secure the immediate landing zone and finally a fourth squad will be securing a larger area to act as a forward operating base. From there the plans can change quickly depending on the specific map or round circumstance. Again, if a SO or the CL provide other information or ideas we can base our response specifically off that. Some rounds I would like to maybe send a doctor down and immediately set up a triage area somewhere if we are looking for survivors. Other times we may send only two or three squads down as a scouting force and keep a squad in reserve until a ‘situation’ calls for their deployment. So many options.

For the actual briefing, I plan on providing something along these general lines:
“Good afternoon men, here is what our situation is: We have received a distress signal from the colony below us and no further communication from it since. As many of you know, colonies have been inexplicably going dark in this sector for years. We feel that we have arrived here soon enough that we may find the reason why. Until we know more this is still a search and rescue mission for the colonist or any other survivors that we may find. As I am sure many of you are aware of; the Sulaco disappeared on a very similar mission several years ago, and that a reason for that disappearance and the ship that was sent to investigate it has still not been determined. That is why we have armed you for what would otherwise be a simple mission. Now that you know what you are going into these are your orders:”

This was kind of just a general example of drawing from the wiki lore to set a more serious mood for what we may be going into. Do I plan on doing things like this every time? Probably not, but I still want everything that we’re doing to make sense. An example of this introduction and briefing changing would be if the CL provided us with other information, another ship was detected in the area etc. there are just so many opportunities to do things.
As for my interaction with the CL it depends. Right now my character is set to have a suspicious outlook on Weyland-Yutani in general so I am more likely to aggressively question the CL and the companies motives for this mission. I have no problem switching that up, and have enjoyed several games where the CO backed the CL and followed instructions to jail survivors for spreading ‘false information’ and things like that.
This seems like a lot of information but I hope it answers your questions adequately. Obviously I don’t have much experience writing briefings or interacting with the CL while being in the top echelon in command so if you’ve got any feedback on this don’t hold back.

crew can only report to drop to the FOB, but you don't have a FOB first drop, so the doc's gonna be violating server rules if he goes down first drop

> Other times we may send only two or three squads down as a scouting force and keep a squad in reserve until a ‘situation’ calls for their deployment. So many options.

Jesus christ no dude don't do that, some people actually want to play

Regardless your pre-briefing and briefing are well thought out in a roleplay context so hop on aboard the CO train, +!

Voted no since you didn't know the map was Ice Colony and gave bad orders. I corrected you in an ahelp you sent asking how your briefing was going; a little more playtime as a XO is encouraged until I change it to a Yes.

Yeah that is a fair critique. My main issue for that round was that when I googled the map this was my top search result http://www.colonial-marines.com/wiki/Maps , which only showed the above ground so I was trying to plan most of that briefing with only half of the information that I needed lol. I see which link I need now that has both above and below ground. Plus I really want to shadow a commander specifically on that map because Ice Colony is my weak spot yet the two times I ahve been XO on that map I have also been commander so that's just my luck

Gave out bad starting orders without really going into detail with each squads objectives, Sent the MPs to arrest me after I launched my dropship to save a marine.

You were arrested after we were preparing a counter attack to retake the stolen dropship and as we were boarding you launched it without warning almost sending me down with it too and leaving a solid half dozen combat able marines stuck on the ship

Actually you told me to launch and the MPs agreed with me setting my arrest status to none, I believe in giving everyone a chance but you need to XO more and often before you go for commander.

You were absolutely not told to launch considering what I was saying while you were launching the ship was "MPs make sure all combat able marines are on DS2" You need to clearly listen to command orders if you are going to be a PO again. I already stated in a previous comment that my performance that round was due to a lacking understanding and missing map of ice colony. You launching that ship with fully able marines still outside the ship and boarding it ended our chances of a surprise win that round.

Maybe you need to be more clear with your own commands and listen to comms before you play XO again, the round was filled with miscommunication coming from you and if you still think its my fault I really would hate to see you as commander anywhere in the near future.

I want you to specifically state the miscommunications. We're all in agreement that the starting orders were sub par but after that they were as clear as they could be considering we had dead and SSD SLs and marines not listening to orders

Actually, considering that we had a PO commit suicide by getting crushed, a SL went SSD near the beginning, one of the squads completely ignored its orders and somehow one of the dropships wasn't outfitted for CAS until like an hour in even though that was pretty much it's only job we did alright.

You seem to at least to try to be competent. As others said,I still think you'd be better suited as an XO rather than a CO.
