I played carrier like 5 times last week and I noticed I have to use skill and hit the marines with my huggers rather than just throwing one beside them.

Pls bring back hugger combat so I could be useful without breaking a sweat.

while it is in keeping with the precious lores that facehuggers be mobile, dangerous little critters, it raises many gameplay balance issues

how would you counterbalance it without nerfing it into the ground as it has been?

If shooting over the tile and not clicking exactly on the hugger would work. I wouldn't mind.

But as far as I know huggers aren't NPC they are objects so far.

Remember in the Pre-alpha when aliens used to stack a shit ton of huggers and then release them? The lil' buggers will run behind you ALL OVER the map. It will look for you, it will find you, and it will hug you! They used to hug every single marine in the entire colony in less than 10 minutes.

Yeah you mean one of those three lockers in viro entrance with 15 huggers inside before the rule was a thing? Hey, look what does my char holds with a hand on my forum picture.

EVA helmets protected from 5 huggers at the beginning or something. Mostly you'd survive those hugger explosions as it'd soak the 2-3 you would eat, while the rest knocks down your friends.

If you really want Hugger combat, play drone caste and use it when the Marines are attacking the Hive. I have seen it done, and have been a victim to it

picking up a hugger and slapping it straight onto someones face as a drone is great

risky, often, but you get the confidence of knowing that even if you dont manage to pull them out and nest them, theyve got a timebomb ticking in them. if they stay to help fight theyre putting their own life at risk and giving the larva a better chance to escape into the wilderness. if they go to medbay to get checked out theyre out of the fight for a potentially long time

the biggest problem in trying to slap a hugger on someone, besides the whole guns and bullets thing, is of course the fact that you will bump into them and push them back away from you. thus i recommend not running straight at your target but run up to them 1 square to either side of them and mash your clicks on them when you get adjacent

oh yeah, and make sure, if youre a big alien, that your sprite is not going to cover your target
