The fuck-up of 12/8/17

So many of you know, today I was researcher, so I made a bunch of grenades with an igniter-signaler detonation mechanism.

So ... Marines lost prison ... came to Almayer ... went to SD, set up the grenades ... well ... we ALL know what happened.



So basically ... bruh i'm sorry I can't stop from laughing my ASS off. So a marine (I won't mention his name for his reputation's sake), basically took one of the 'nades.


AND ... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, primed it ... and since ALL of the 'nades were on that ONE frequency and ONE code ... well ... let's just say like 5 marines got INSTA-killed with like 6-7 more severely injured.




oooooooooh my lord that was funny.

Anyway, moral of the story I guess is don't fuck with research's 'nades unless they specifically allow you to.

Were those the nades you kept throwing into north hall from briefing? I saw something like that and they didnt go off when you threw them.

Shit! I missed out!

Now all i gotta do now, is find out how the heck you got those materials, were they from the prison?

No that was a different/next round, it was at SD.

Those grenades at north hall from briefing were indeed running off the same principle though, as they were all on the same frequency and code.

Hahaha, you did miss out.

You can still make grenades as research, though it's INFINITELY more complicated now, i'll link my researcher guide that also explains here in a second.

You can trigger mines with another explosive, but I don't think grenades work that way

uuuuum, hmm, that's actually a REALLY good question, i'll have to test that next time I get the chance in a round, i'll get back to you.

I once had a explosive nade and two nade casings in my satchel, and a experimental healing nade on the ground, I was right on top of the healing nade, detonated it (timer), every nades including casings' gone.

Not sure if this answers your question.

Not destroying the casings, but stacking explosion effects that interests me.

Oh yeah, explosions stack, even if they are all in one place like in a backpack, spreading them out gives the damage over a wider area, but of course, less damage.

I'll tell you the story from my mentor times on Paradise.

Basically, we had a newbie Plasma Researcher that had some idea from wiki (and my extensive PMs to them about how to do all them) how to make one. Then they forgot about one of the in-game rules - no explosives on oneself beyond research.
Security halts them, does the search, brigs them for 10 minutes and confiscates valve-transfer-bomb and places that said bomb neatly in the centre of the armoury.

30 minutes passed. AN IMMENSE SIZED explosion completely obliterates brig from the fucking face of the station. Cells are exposed to space, warden's room is completely upside-down, armoury is gone along with all the weapons.
Admins find that bomb was created by that plasma researcher and start questioning them (since they were not antags) and me (since I was helping them)
At that point, seeing that at the same time Plasma-bomb test range also got completely wrecked I open my "admin panel" (if you can call it that way) and PM that researcher:
"Please... change frequencies next time, especially if your bomb ever gets confiscated..."

I laughed, admins laughed, we had a great time
