Common Staff Situations:
Write a description of what you would do in each of the following situations. Do not write on the same line as the situation - use the space below it or make space as needed. Failure to do this proves your inability to follow instructions and your application will be automatically denied.

1. A player randomly shoots someone at round start and MPs have detained him.

I Would contact the player and ask him for his reasonings. If found it was just because they could or some other reason that isnt proper escalation then they are issued a 2 hour ban for first offense and add that sweet note

2. The ship has a breach to space and a bunch of players have died or are dying as a result.

I would A. Contact a admin via Slack unless one was online which then I would say something via Msay while I proceed to find how how the breach happened in the first place. If the breach was from the shuttle well then thats normal. If it
was from someone just trying to mass kill people then Id wait for the breach to be fixed and then heal those effected and issue the one who did it a two hour ban along with a sweet note.

3. You see a player walking around the ship naked and clearly lost.

I would pm them and ask them if they are new to the server. If they said yes I would then proceed to assit them with where they are needing to go with step by step instructions Until they understood what they needed to do next. If the
server was busy with grief or other mischief then i would ask a mentor to continue to assist the player while I turned my attention to the more serious issues.

4. A player is being very rude to you in Adminhelps and requesting to speak to an Admin+ staff member.

If he was being rude I would tell him such in a polite way while also grabbing the attention of an Admin+. While also adding a note that the player was rude.

5. You notice a player with a name that doesn't fit our naming rules. The player is arguing that: They've used the name for several years, no one has told them to change it before, and that they didn't know it was a rule.

I would calmly explain that their name is infact in violation of our rules and that just because they have managed to slip by with out notice doesnt matter as it states if someone recognizes the name as famous and proof is found then the
rule stands. I would also state that ignorance of the rules is not a good enough reason as it states to read the rules before you even get into the game. Would also tag a note to make sure if they fail to change it there is proof of being told

6. You see a Maintenance Tech running around in armor and carrying a rifle. The security level is green with no threat present.

I would contact the MT and ask him why he has the armor and the rifle. If he said he is just returning to the lockers to drop it then Ill follow him and make sure he does. otherwise Id inform him that the Security level is green and that he is
not permitted to have the gear and weapon and that he is to return it to the lockers immediately. If he continues to disobey I would then proceed to issue a job ban and a 2 hour server ban and add that note.

7. You see a Squad Medic performing surgery on the planet. He claims it was because there were no doctors in the FOB.

I would proceed to tell him to cease and desist as it is against the rules for anyone except Doctors or the CMO to perform Surgery. IF he fails to stop then I warn him again and then if he still doesnt stop i issue a job ban and a 2 hour server
ban. And add that note regardless of outcome

8. The round is stagnating. There are 30 marines and 4 aliens. The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?

I would pm the remaining four aliens and tell them they are the last and should go out fighting a glorious battle with the marines. Who knows they may even succeed.

9. The round ends, a MARINE starts shooting a hostile IRON BEAR and the IRON BEAR Adminhelps complaining he was killed after the round ended.

I would inform the IRON BEAR that it is not against the rules to combat hostile ERT. Only friendly fire is a no no

10. A marine is running around disarming, punching and stealing gear at round start.

Well to start this is a IC issue. And one would let the MP's handle it as they get bored too. Id also just to make sure it got handled would do a Staff head whisper to an mp on the happenings as a gut feeling. If no MP's in the round. Then id
pm the dude to chill with the actions. If i PMed id leave a note

11. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him.

I'd check the logs and see what the logs inform me of how things went down to shed some light on the happenings. Depending on how the situation from the logs turned out would depend on if i issued a 4 hour ban for failure to obey proper
escalation If it was a first offence. If not then I'd increase ban times accordingly. And Id leave that sweet sweet note.

12. An issue arises that requires Admin+ abilities.

I would do as much as i can while also trying to fetch a person who is an Admin+

13. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and RPing but one player gets offended and Adminhelps about it.

As long as it is minor and its all IC and not being overly directioned that way then i would inform the person that it is IC and while Major racist comments are not tolerated minor ones here and there are allowed. And if they feel
uncomfortable around it then That they can either A. tell them icly that they have an issue and keep the happenings IC. B. Tell them via LOOC that they are being bothered by it. or C. Walk away.

14. A marine opens fire at round start in briefing killing multiple marines and instantly logs off.

I would heal the affected marines and then proceed to issue a 3 day ban to the person for obvious grief and add a note.

15. You see a player playing a xeno larva/chestburster run towards the frontlines and die.

I would ask them why they thought it was a good idea to suicide run as a larva. Almost every reason earns the player a Job ban from Xenos and every reason gets them a note.

16. You see a xeno memeing, saying AYYLMAO, REEEEEE etc in hivemind chat.

I would inform the player that they need to cut it out that this is a Medium RP server and that if he continues he would earn a Xeno job ban. Also a note would be added.

17. A xeno player calls the shuttle a "dropship". A different xeno player complains to you that it's metagaming/failRP to call it a "dropship".

I would explain that For the sake of hivemind chat. It is fine to call the dropship a dropship and that it isnt breaking immersion.

18. A Command staff player at briefing near round-start mentions there are aliens on the planet.

I would Pm the player and explain that what he just said was metagaming and that he is to not do that again in the furture while also making an ooc statement that the mention of aliens by the player is to be removed as if it didnt happen.
Then id leave a note on the player.

19. A Marine kills another Marine on the EVAC Pod to take the last spot and claims it was RP as he was saving himself.

This is legit as long as it was actually roleplayed out in some shape or form

20. You see a fellow staff member give wrong information in an Adminhelp or incorrectly enforcing a rule.

Id inform said staff member via Msay of the correct info or remind him of what he is doing wrong. And if he doesn't listen then Id Inform the Head of the department.

20a. You see a fellow staff member abusing his powers in-game.

I would copy logs and send them to the boss of the deparment or Feweh

21. You see a player talking in OOC chat about what he did with your mom last night.

If i new it was just jokes being tossed around id joke on with him. Otherwise id just ignore it unless the player kept at it which id then tell him to quit it and id leave a note on his account.

Was staff until around 8 months ago. Ive been back and playing for a bit now. Figured id show my interest in returning to staff. I have no issues reclimbing the ranks again. Hope to see yall on staff again soon

You're going to need to play CM for a longer period of time before we re-accept this.
You've got about 20-25 hours in the last year on CM, and most of them being just this past week... which isn't enough to bring you back onto the team.

This is denied for now. Go ahead and reapply in a month and we'll look into re-acceptance.
